I search a 205 GTI with motor 16S (preference XU10RS 167ch) or with turbo CT motor.
Do you know where I could find some?

If Germany (LB) means Baden-Würtemberg, Ludwigsburg close to Stuttgart ... you found some contacts of 205 i16V drivers.

I don't know anyone who's gonna sell such a car.

Hallo Marc,

I am near Ludwigsburg.

I search one to buy that I can drive legally (with TUV to be ok for the insurance).
The problem in France is that we have a lot of 205 16S and TCT but it is not possible to make it legal.
So now that I am in Germany if it is easy to make it legal (?) I would really like to have one. :)

Of course it is ok for contacts too. ;)

actually i'm sorry. No one i know ever sold his 205 16V ;-)... sometimes there are some on

or the marketplace on top of the forum.
Prices varies from car to car .. between 1000€ and 5000€ ... depends on the car condition.
(even cheaper than a GTI 8V in France ;) )

To make e fresh build car legal nowadays could be hard. To make ist 100% legale you're gonna need the certificate made by gutmann (www.gutmann-gruppe.de) a car and a inspector or engeneer who's willing and able to do the entry to the car papers like the certificate.
Surely there a people says "it's no problem to get it legal" but my own experience is different. Sure there are TÜV engineers willing to do so, but not much.
I asked before one screw was opened, and afterwards changed my CTI to an CTIi16V witch der DFW 147HP engine in lack of an D6C 158HP. The 163HP 16V from an 306 was to expensive...

[just don't aks, i'll never sell my car or build one again ... maybee one day, build one more].

You're gonna live in the area of LB?

I work/live near Ludwigsburg since one year now I really like the area and I think to stay some more years here.

Was it expensive for you to get certificate and official papers for the modification?

hi too...

i'm one of the 205 cti 16v drivers in the ludwigsburg/stutgart area too.
it's really not very easy to legalize such a conversion in germany, but it's feasible.
there are a few specialists where you can attend for tüv-approval of the car, which are well experienced in this.

the biggest problem would be to convert the car in a proper manner. this conversion covers not only the engine, in the case of a cti you have to change the front- and rear axles, the brakesystem, the stabilizers, the brake-lining as well as the mastercylinder and in a few cases the wiring harness of the engine and the ignition.

also it will take some time to convert the exhaust-system (you have to dismantle the complete exhaustline and change the catalytic converter [if you like to do it accordingly to the gutmann-certificate]). also it's necessary to modify the exhaust-manifold and/or the assembled part of the exhaust-system. due to the very small space around the front-end you will have to modify your cooling system too. there are a few different ways to do this, which one you will prefer - it depents on your own possibilities and your financial situation:-)

in fact, it is really possible to convert a convertible to a mi16, but it's not very easy and it'll cost some euros. the hardest part of all... for sure will be to get all the necessary parts:-)
