There will be a new model 206..
Believed to be badged 206PS (Peugeot Sport) & currently codenamed the "T12"
The current position is this:
Peugeot have 4 prototype cars currently being tested at Ryton (Coventry). The car will
use a Lotus tuned 2.0L engine producing 187bhp..
But they are currently having problems keeping the engine temperatures stable due to
the lack of under bonnet space.. A workaround to include under arch radiators is being
investigated..
This engine is NOT the XUJ10RS unit from the GTi-6 because that engine is very "dirty"
and would fail new emmisions regulations, that is one of the reasons it did not end up in
the existing 206GTi..
The vehicle might be available during the Summer/Autumn of 2002....
The 206 estate (206SW) that was shown at Frankfurt Motor Show this year, did indeed
have a 180bhp low pressure Turbo engine fitted, but peugeot have officially stated that it
will NOT reach production with this engine. However a 206 Estate will be available in
2003, no more details available
